Why does he still have a job?

13 July 2007

Greg Sheridan is rather quick to attack James Baker's credibility, but like most of The Australian's commissars he is curiously silent on the obvious damage the Iraq invasion has done to his own.

As a result of the invasion - which Greg Sheridan enthusiastically supported - 655,000 Iraqis are dead, an entire nation has been freed up to become an unfettered terrorist training ground, and American prestige is in tatters throughout the world.

The military planners can't do what they do without the public opinion shapers.

Donald Rumsfeld no longer has a job. Why does Greg Sheridan?
