Greg Sheridan
1 June 2007
Scores of respondents to these increasingly surreal opinion pieces have now been asking Greg Sheridan for some weeks:
When will you accept your share of responsibility for shaping public opinion behind this war, which has now deprived an estimated 655,000 civilians of their lives?
Will there be a pronouncement on this at some stage? Or will you now only address tangential matters such as the way the war was executed - or fantasies such as your hope of last-minute success?
Politicians, despots and generals pay for their mistakes. Opinion piece-writers, it seems, just airbrush history in their own favour.
