Iraq a lost cause

Paul Kelly complains ('Monsters Unleashed', 24/2) that 'much of the media debate in Australia about withdrawal assumes that Iraq is a lost cause and that defeat has arrived. People who think this should have the honesty to say it'.

Has not Mr Kelly yet heard anyone say this? He must not stray far from the office.

I have heard it said it a thousand times. But allow me to say it again:

Iraq is a lost cause and defeat has arrived.
